Painter since the age of 17, he uses different technics as watercolor, pastel and oil. He studied with Robert Guinard. The latter obtained the Great prize of the Town of Paris in 1932 and studied with Cormon and JP Laurens. Jean-Louis Marie arrives in Paris in 1975 where he takes free courses at Beaux Arts school for the next two years. Since then, he attended numbers of group exhibitions in France as well as abroad. Some of his works take place in private collections and others are now property of the French State.
Special guest at the exhibition of the town of Villeneuve le Roi (94) for the year 2006, Golden medal for the Exhibition 'Île de France' in Bourg la Reine for the year 2007, Silver medal for the Exhibition 'Île de France' in Bourg la Reine for the year 2008. He also teaches pastel courses for the Postal artistic Society in Montreuil (93).
